Our Story
Bombshell Salon opened its doors on July 1, 2013, the brainchild of owner and stylist Bobbi Volkmer — a decision she calls “the best I ever agreed to.” The name was born from a collaboration between Bobbi and her step-daughter, drawing inspiration from the empowering, classy pin-up girls of the 1940s.
The name Bombshell represents something classy, traditional, trendy, edgy, and empowering all at once — inspired by a patriotic era of hard-working women, Vargas girls, and nose art on American bombers.
Why Zebra?
The salon's decor — peanut butter, barn red, black, and zebra accents — was chosen to evoke strength, warmth, and a welcoming atmosphere for both women and men. The zebra motif is intentional: no two zebras are the same, just as every client is unique.
Bobbi's business model is simple: treat her team the way she always wished she'd been treated, keep the atmosphere personal and friendly, and create a place where everybody knows your name. Happy stylists make happy clients — and that makes a happy salon.

Meet the Team
Bobbi Volkmer
Owner / Stylist / Nail Tech / Skin Care
Bobbi is a fully licensed cosmetologist who has been in the industry for over 39 years, moving to Loveland from Minnesota in 1981. She relishes creating new styles and color for her ever-changing clientele and has perfected her acrylic nail skills since the 80s. She recently re-educated herself in skin care and microdermabrasion. In her personal time she enjoys horses, motorcycles, good Mexican food, and margaritas.
DeAnn Gardner
Stylist
DeAnn is a native Lovelander and has been a stylist for 40+ years, witnessing tremendous change in the Thompson Valley. She specializes in cuts, all phases of styling, color, and the lost art of perming. Outside the salon, DeAnn enjoys gardening, walking her Shelby dog, and fellowship.
Adrienne Stevenson
Stylist / Nail Tech
Adrienne is a Colorado native who grew up on the Western Slope and has been a stylist for 16 years. She loves doing color and creating new, updated styles for her clients, and has unique knowledge in ethnic hair. She is also a trained and certified technician of the Brazilian Blow Out System.
Autumn Smith
Stylist & Barber
Autumn is a fully trained and licensed cosmetologist AND barber — a rare combination of skills. She is a meticulous and confident colorist, skilled in bleach and toning, vivids, highlights, lowlights, and color correction. She has been a stylist in Loveland for 7 years.
